Meet Kate
To me, there’s nothing more wonderful than home.
My home is a safe, comfortable space where I close the door to the outside world. Our life can move very fast indeed (getting the kids out of the door!), so I cherish any peaceful moments.
To me, quilting is peace.
Quilting can’t be rushed, with the needle rhythmically flowing through the fabric for hours on end. The different textures and weights of the fat quarters are incredibly mindful to work with.
I love to make perfectly imperfect quilts, which reminds me beauty truly is everywhere.
Home is joy, and so is quilting.
"Life is too short to live in a boring space." Laura Ashley
What are fat quarters?
So many designs, so many projects
If you’ve been sewing, quilting, or crafting for a while you’ll be very familiar with fat quarters. They are brilliant, especially for small sewing crafts.

Fabric from the 1990s
Kitch, colourful, retro, and always gorgeous, I just can’t get enough of vintage fabrics.
The designs are always beautiful, but it’s the fabric itself which is so remarkable. There are only a few of metres in circulation meaning they’re very precious, and I always find each fat quarter inspires a warm feeling of nostalgia. I always wonder who has saved the fabric over the years, I imagine them gently folding it and tucking it away to make something special.
Because each vintage fat quarter is sourced from flea markets, thrift stores, fabric fairs, and charity shops, there’s no way for me to guarantee stock levels.
Sadly, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
