What is a Fat Quarter?

So many designs, so many projects

A fat quarter is effectively a half metre piece of fabric cut in half again. This gives a 'fatter' chunk of material than if you purchased a typical quarter metre. 

A fat quarter is a really handy, usable square(ish!) piece of fabric, perfect for activities like sewing zipped pouches, drawstring bags, or little cushion covers. They’re also ideal for any patchwork activities like quilting or applique.
